  • NIAS not accepting patients for SWAH to Altnagelvin Double ED unless there is a BED to go to.

    2 and a half years after not speaking out publicly about their concerns for the impact on patient outcomes and indeed survival the Northern Ireland Ambulance service has made a change in their provision.NO NIAS paramedics until you have a nominated bed…in the receiving hospital which is permanently over capacity.

  • 10,000 patients sent to an overwhelmed ED hours away in need of Emergency Surgery.

    10 pateints per day. 10,011 patients from our community have been forced to travel to be treated in Altnagelvin since surgery in SWAH was suspended.

  • Stormont Adjournment Debate on SWAH. 9th September 2025.

    On Tuesday September 8th SOAS members and a busload of Fermanagh folks gathered in Stormont for an Adjounment Debate.
